Gold Foil Namecards Singapore | Premium Printing Services

Gold foil name cards in Singapore are standard name cards with a metallic gold layer hot-stamped onto the logo, the name or a border, so that part catches the light in a way no ink can reproduce. At Alibaba Printing the base card is SGD 30 for a box of 100 on 260gsm art card with matt lamination on both sides, and gold or silver foil on one or both sides is quoted on your artwork. Heavier 310gsm and 350gsm stocks are available for a more solid card.

How much do gold foil name cards cost in Singapore?

The card itself starts at SGD 30 for a box of 100 and SGD 90 for ten boxes, full colour on 260gsm art card with matt lamination on both sides at 90 x 54 mm. Foil is added on top and quoted on the artwork, because the price depends on how many sides carry foil, how large the foiled area is and how many names are on the order. Every foil job needs a stamping block made to the design, so the foil cost per card falls as the quantity rises. Base rates are on the name card printing page.

What does gold foil look like on a name card?

Foil is a thin metallic film pressed onto the card with heat, so it reflects light like real metal rather than printing as a flat gold-coloured ink. On a matt-laminated card the contrast is strongest: the card stays soft and flat and only the foiled logo or name shines as the card turns in the hand. Gold suits warm, traditional and premium brands; silver suits cool, technical and minimal designs. Foil can be combined with spot UV or embossing for a raised effect, each quoted separately.

Which designs work best with foil?

Foil works best on solid shapes and clear lines: a logo, a name in a confident weight, a thin border or a monogram. It is less suited to photographs, gradients and very fine detail, because foil is either on or off with no shading. As a rule of thumb, keep foiled lines thicker than about 0.3 mm and foiled text at least about 6 pt, or fine strokes can fill in or break. A small foiled area on a calm card usually looks more premium than foil across the whole surface.

Design element Good for foil? Why
Logo mark or monogram Yes Solid shapes stamp cleanly and draw the eye
Name or company name Yes, in a medium or bold weight Very thin fonts may break up
Thin border or frame Yes, above about 0.3 mm Hairlines can fill in
Photograph or gradient No Foil has no shading; print these in ink
Small contact details Usually no Print in ink for legibility

How do I prepare artwork for a foil name card?

Send a print-ready PDF in CMYK at 300 dpi, built at 96 x 60 mm so there is 3 mm of bleed around the 90 x 54 mm card, plus the foil area on its own layer or as a separate page in solid black vector, positioned exactly where the foil should go. Outline the fonts. Keep foil and important text at least 4 mm inside the trim. If you only have a logo and a brief, design help is available and it adds time. The size and file rules are in name card size in Singapore.

How long do foil name cards take?

Longer than plain cards, because foil is a separate pass after printing and lamination, and the stamping block has to be made first. Plan on the standard turnaround plus the extra foil step, and confirm the date with us before promising cards to anyone. Foil is not available on same-day or one-hour express slots; for urgent cards choose matt or gloss lamination only, as explained in express name card printing.

Is gold foil worth it for a business card?

When the card is part of the pitch, usually yes: consultants, property agents, lawyers, jewellers, wedding and event businesses, and premium food and beverage brands use foil because the first touch of the card sets an expectation. For staff who hand out hundreds of cards a month, the standard SGD 30 card is often the better spend, and many companies foil only the cards for directors and client-facing staff. The finish decision is set out in matt vs gloss lamination.
